The treatment is decided before you ever touch the skin.
Analysis is often the shortest part of an appointment and the part that determines everything after it. Under a magnifying lamp, with a client who has already told you what she believes her skin to be, it is easy to confirm an assumption rather than test one. Two therapists then reach two different conclusions about the same face.
This guide sets out a repeatable way of looking at skin: what to observe, in what order, under what light, and how to record it so the next appointment begins from evidence instead of memory.
What is inside:
- A structured consultation, from history and lifestyle through to contraindications
- What to look for under magnification, zone by zone, and in which order
- Separating conditions from types, and dehydration from dryness
- Contraindications that mean adapt the treatment, and those that mean refer on
- A one-page analysis sheet to print and keep in the client record
Ideal for: Therapists who want their analysis to be consistent from client to client, and to be able to explain their reasoning out loud.
